New Features, Deleted Features of the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox!

Chevrolet is changing some of the features with their ever so popular Chevrolet Equinox for the 2012 model.  Changes to improve the options, some changes that should happen and changes that take options away.  In either case, the 2012 Equinox will be slightly different on the inside not so much with the exterior design.  Some consumers might not see too many changes, Chevrolet Dealers Florida will be able to show you what has changed.

The deletions from your 2012 model:

-  The trailer equipment with the Class II 1 1/4 " receiver hitch and the 4 wire connection.

-  19" Chrome Clad Aluminum wheels.

-  18" Machined Aluminum wheels.

-  17" Aluminum wheels.

-  Audio system with Navigation/Infotainment with Rear Entertainment.

-  Audio system with Navigation/Infotainment.

-  Audio system with Rear Entertainment.

-  Cardinal Red Metallic paint.

-  Cyber Grey Mettallic paint.

Now, here are the changes for the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox:

-  Deep tinted glass, this will be on all windows except for the windshield and the driver/passenger side windows this replaces the Solar Ray deep tinted glass.

-  Rear Vision camera is standard on the 1LT.

-  The Rear Vision camera or the Self Dimming Rear View mirror is not part of the Driver Convenience Package on the 1LT.

-  The Chrome Appearance Package is not available on the 2LT.

-  The Bluetooth Package is not available on the 1LS, (content excluding the leather wrapped steering wheel is now standard on the 1LS).

-  The Cargo Management Package is not available on the 1LT/2LT, if you insist on having any of these accessories, you many purchase them through GM Accessories.

Last but not least, the NEW features:

-  Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

-  The Audio System with the Navigation, AM/FM/XM stereo, CD player with MP3, WMA playback capability, 7' color touch screen with the GPS Navigation with the SD memory card.

-  Audio system with the AM/FM/XM stereo with the CD player and MP3/WMA playback, 7" touch color display, RDS (Radio Data System), axillary input jack, outside temperature gauge  and speed compensated volume.

-  19" Chrome Aluminum wheels.

-  18" Chrome-clad Aluminum wheels.

-  17" Aluminum wheels.

-  A 2.4 Liter DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) 4 cylinder SIDI (Spark Injection Direct Injection) with the VVT (variable valve timing), E85 (Ethanol 85) capable when ordered with the Federal Emissions of 182 hp 135.7 kW @ 6700 rpm 172 lb ft @ 4900 rpms.  Yes, that is General Motor's greek language but do not hestitate to ask what all that means at your Sarasota Chevrolet Dealer.

As you read over this, it does make someone (at least me) wonder, who has this job?  To change things that one might not think of?  Some things you wonder if they change just for paperwork sake.  Any who, lets hope that the Equinox continues to prosper and will be the American SUV.  Chevrolet has many models that have stood the test of time, will this one too.
