European Microvan: Orlando!

Chevrolet is releasing a new vehicle in early 2011 but you won't be able to find it at Sarasota Chevrolet Dealer.  That is because the Chevy Orlando is set to be released in Europe, Asia, and Canada; perhaps we will see a model from Canada driving around our country!  Sure, there are tons of Volkswagen Incentives going on right now, but this microvan concept car from Chevy will be a great thing for Europe.  And chances are that if sales do well overseas and our gas prices go back to over $4 like they were for a while, we will see it at your local dealership.

Consumers first got a sneak peak at the Chevy Orlando way back in 2008 at the Paris Auto Show.  Since then, the concept has flourished into reality and spy photographers have begun leaking pictures of some of the first models to roll off the production line.  While the exact specifications have yet to be released, we do know a few things about the new Orlando.  This small microvan, crossover, compact SUV, or station wagon, whatever you really want to call it, has the ability to seat seven passengers.  We'd like to see a car from Birmingham Subaru Dealers offer drivers the versatility of three rows of seating!  Plus, the second and third rows are in theater stadium style, so all passengers have an unobstructed view out the front windshield.  Looking at the exterior, this also gives the Orlando a sleek design.

Drivers can choose from a regular gasoline engine or a diesel engine option.  The regular gas is a 1.8 liter four cylinder that produces 141 horsepower.  The diesel option is clean burning, and a 2.0 liter four cylinder that pushes 131 horsepower low and 163 horsepower high.  Chevrolet also made sure that this is a safe option for families, and all models come equipped with electronic stability control and six airbags!
